Be faithful!

1 Corinthians 4:2
Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful.

I'm very mindful of the blessings the Lord has given me, among them the talent He's given me for writing. I still don't know where God and I are heading in this writing gig, but I'm impressed upon during my prayer times again and again to be faithful. All along I've said it's not my thing, it's God's.

How about you? Do you strive to be faithful in whatever He's given you? What gifts do you cherish? Please share -- I think it's a pity that so many people hide their gifts. That wasn't the reason the Giver gave it to you, you know.

BTW, the above photo is the view from my hammock. I like to pray there.

Here's another view from the hammock.

Psalm 139:14
Marvelous are Your works, and that my soul knows very well.

Good post, Megan! I've felt for years that my gift (which was also my career and calling) was a love for young children. So for 21 years I taught first grade, then kindergarten, and LOVED IT !! :) But then as my back worsened, the Lord closed the door on my teaching career (had to retire a little early due to back pain). However, He opened the door for my writing (which I've always loved but never had time for). ~ Patti

My "duh" answer is writing, but music is another gift God gave me. For years I poured all my vocal ambitions in the wrong direction and as a result, had some devastating rejections.

A few months ago, after quite the hiatus from singing, God pretty much dragged me into a vocal ensemble I wasn't sure I wanted to join. I was tired. I thought my gift was useless and didn't want to audition for another thing just to hear, "I'm sorry Darcie, but you're just not good enough."

A Susie type thing grabbed me by the arm and dragged me to a concert by this group, Psalm 42. It was at a youth detention center. Several members of the ensemble were ill and unable to sing, so they punted with missing vocal parts. It wasn't a great concert but eight or nine kids got saved as a result.

Now, I would much rather see people fall to their knees and cry out to God than, "Dang. You guys rock!"

BTW - Megan, I have a crazy hammock story I need to tell you. Had quite an experience in PA with one!
