That was my favorite too, Jan. I liked the way the characters had a solitary look to them, but that they might be dreaming about what their lives were or could become. Yeah, all that from a sample of cover art. Would you believe I work in the portrait photography industry? LOL.
I liked the first one with the field. It had a feeling of lonliness and sort of mystery. I like covers that don't show faces. I like that the first one let me get a feel that it is set in Kansas and also that it is historical, (except her hair was contemporary).
I really didn't like any of the covers. The first cover made me think it was another war-torn-love-lost book. The second cover bugged me because he had a WWII plane and was wearing modern clothing. The third cover was the best, but I still didn't love it. The landscape didn't look like Kansas crop fields and I would be angry if she never went up in the plane with him.

I liked the colorful *Pilot* cover with the wispy white edges. The characters look intriguing and conflicted.

Hmm. I spoke with two other women today who also like the first cover. So, you're not alone in your choice, Kay.
